OpenAI Codex is a zero-config provider that uses your existing OpenAI Codex credentials. No API key is needed - Multi reads your authentication directly.

Works with any ChatGPT subscription - Free, Plus, Pro, Business, Edu, and Enterprise.

Prerequisites

1. Install OpenAI Codex - Download from openai.com/codex
2. Sign in to Codex with your OpenAI account

Setup in Multi

Setting up OpenAI Codex in Multi

1. Open the Multi panel → Settings (gear icon)
2. Click Add Profile
3. Select OpenAI Codex as the provider
4. Choose a model
5. Configure the reasoning effort
6. Save

That’s it - no API key required.

Cost

OpenAI Codex works with any ChatGPT subscription tier - Free, Plus, Pro, Business, Edu, and Enterprise. Usage is deducted through your OpenAI account quota based on your ChatGPT plan.
